Terms of Service

These terms are the basic rules for using rookx.

1. Who these terms are with

rookx is operated by Korab Zeciri and Edon Hashani. By using the website, game, accounts, chat, clans, reports, donation features, or Lichess-related features, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

2. Accounts and guests

You may play as a guest or create an account.
You are responsible for keeping your login details safe.
Use a lawful email address and do not impersonate another person.
Display names, avatars, profile text, custom assets, and clan names must be appropriate and must not infringe someone else's rights.

3. Fair play and prohibited behavior

Do not cheat, exploit bugs, automate play unfairly, harass users, spam, evade bans, upload malicious files, attack the service, or use rookx for illegal activity. We may remove content, restrict features, reset ratings, suspend accounts, or block access where needed to protect the service or other users.

4. Chats, clans, reports, and user content

You keep ownership of content you submit, but you give rookx permission to host, display, store, moderate, and process it as needed to operate the service. This includes chat messages, reports, public profile fields, clan content, custom cosmetic assets, and game/replay data. Do not post private information or content you do not have permission to use.

5. Game records and ratings

rookx may record game moves, results, ratings, leaderboard entries, replays, share codes, puzzle progress, and related metadata. Ratings and leaderboard positions may change because of game results, moderation decisions, bug fixes, or anti-abuse measures.

6. Third-party services

rookx may link to or use third-party services, including Lichess for linked chess play and PayPal for donations. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. rookx is not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

7. Donations

Donations support development and server costs. Payments are processed by PayPal. Unless a donation page clearly says otherwise, donations are voluntary and do not buy a guaranteed feature, competitive advantage, or service level.

8. Availability and changes

rookx is provided as an online game and may change, break, restart, or be unavailable. We may add, remove, or modify features, game modes, rules, integrations, accounts, or content at any time.

9. Disclaimers and liability

rookx is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost data, lost ratings, lost profits, service interruptions, or issues caused by third-party services. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
